NOOOOOOOOO!

The Kiss of Death from our local politicians????

Heat bulletin board fodder, perhaps? Dallas television stations were reporting Monday that city officials have already decided on a championship parade route, from City Hall to the American Airlines Center, and that the parade would be two days after the finals end.

I'm sure Miami has a similar contingency. Besides, I think it will take more than a little jinxy voodoo to derail the Larry O'Brien train.

Good Gawd Ahmighty....are you F-ing kidding me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is tempting fate in the WORST POSSIBLE WAY.

We have flipped off the sports gods and they will be angry.

$#@% it, how F-ing stupid.

All Mav's fans better be wearing their lucky apparel tonight.

So...if I say the sun is coming up this morning does that mean I can stop the inevitable too?

How 'bout this... I DECLARE THAT WITHOUT A DOUBT MIAMI WILL WIN THE SERIES.

There, I canceled out their jinx with an opposite jinx. Happy?

We'll see how funny this all is if Dirk and/or Josh brakes an ankle tonight.

Relax people. The City of Dallas did the same thing two days before the Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Finals in 1999 and the Stars turned out alright.

The Mavs will not be deterred by this.

I think Bill Simmons would hang himself.

My intestines hurt now. Thank mayor Miller!

Laura Miller <<<< Barry Bonds, Mike Tyson, or Hitler

this could be on the same level as a "josh lewin jinx." count the mavericks out.

I just booked my flight to Florida for two weeks so I can attend the Heat parade when they come back and win. Whoops! I think I just jinxed the Heat!

That was in the DMN like a week ago. I guess the national media wasn't paying much attention then.

Go ahead and whip my @ss about this, but I'm telling you, Sports is more effected by Karma and Irony than anything else...except maybe the legal system.

Once the jinx is invoked, it cannot be undone. Curses can be lifted, jinxes are like Herpes....permenant.

Unless they're using that billboard to kneecap Dirk, this wont help the Heat win 4 of the next 5.

At least we can all agree on one thing: we all love the Mad Ass Reason Gang.

This surprises me...I would have thought Laura Miller would have overcomplicated things until the parade route started in Arlington and went to Bedford.

Way to go Dallas!!

And now, I'll retroactively jinx Team USA by guaranteeing a victory over the Czech republic.

Okay, I'll be the first to say it: Dampier for MVP. He's been so good, it's really ridiculous. Can a guy that isn't starting win the Finals MVP?

I don't care about the curse of the politicians or the game 3 loss. Mavs in 5. The Heat have a big bag of nothing.

Well...that sucks.

But at least I'd like to tip my hat to Miami...they seem to be a classy group. Not whiny like the Spares, or thuggy like the rockets...plus Shaq is one of the greatest. I'm actually glad they weren't swept.

Now I hope the mavs punch them in the nose and step on their throats. Mavs in 5.

mavs in 4!!

....wait..

Bob Sturm, you should know by now the city council can't get anything done. What makes you think they can jinx a playoff series?

Refs or no refs, did you SEE the "phantom loss" of about 4 seconds in the last minute of the game??? there was a foul at about 46 seconds left, and the clock ticks down to 42 seconds... people were walking around like "is the play over yet", dwade dribbles.... but no, even though the whistle blew at 00:46, the time goes to 00:42

"FOUR SECONDS DON'T MATTER"

You kidding me, Miami? How about that last possession, er, I mean "throw-in"... wouldn't you rather have 5 seconds left instead of 1.0?

Yeah, my thoughts exactly -- go back and watch tivo, what a JOKE, refs! 4 seconds is a lot.

At least now we know Stern wants a little more moolah in extending out the tv coverage a few more nights, meaning --hooray -- more of that empty box Marc Jackson and that racist fool Wilbon. Gag.

Big plays that lost the game for Dallas:

Jason Terry throwing a lazy pass that got stolen by Dwyade.

Shaqs laughable moving pick on J-Ho while Dwyade hits a jumper to tie.

Shaq shoving Damp in the back to secure a rebound and then go to the line.

Terry not picking on that last beautiful play for Howard. Should have been a rim-rocking dunk, but Terry missed his pick.

Mavs inexplicably stalling with 7 minutes left, holding the ball until there were 4 seconds left on teh clock. Horrific. Was Nellie coaching this game?

Still not worried though. Heat win a squeaker on a Dirk missed free throw
and a Gary Payton jumper. I'll take my chances.....

I'm not going to pretend I know a ton about basketball, but it seems that when things are going very well for Miami they can just barely keep up with us. When things go well for us we beat them easily. Barring injury, I don't think they have a chance to take three of the next four. Maybe we'll have a chance to win in at home now.

What the hell was the French manager doing today? Did he not watch the second Arsenal vs. Villareal Champs League match. Playing Henry alone up front means that you basically don't have anyone up front since he plays an in an untraditional, wide and withdrawn position for a striker. Sure Henry can work solo magic, but he works better in combination with other players. The only time the French look dangerous is when he pairs Saha with Henry, but for some reason the manager consistently waits until there is about 12 minutes left in the match to put Saha in. He did the same thing in 2002, though I'm not sure if the manager is the same. Either way there is no excuse. One forward formations work so very, very rarely that you wonder why anyone tries them at all.

Watching Ronaldo not break a sweat today reminded me of a story that when we was playing in the Italian league one of his teammates told him to "Run, your fat bastard!" To which he replied "I don't get paid to run, I get paid to score." Which is fine when you are scoring.

Ex-jocks on the mike are always suspect, but the crew ESPN has rounded up for the World Cup take the cake. Americans shouldn't be allowed to call a soocer match. Marcello Balbao finally found something he sucks at more than defending. Unless ESPN has their European duo workin' the game I head over to the Spanish channel.

Was that the first clutch free throw Dirk has missed in the post season?

I agree with you eric...that wasn't superstar-Dirk...that was fade-away jumper Dirk.

I do not agree with putting this loss on Stern or the officials. As I said earlier...Miami has been classy...they haven't whined about bad calls, bad clocks, whatever. They just took their beating and said, "We sucked...we're going to have to play better." I know this is Texas, but this isn't the Spurs...we don't whine.

that's the kind of game that just pisses you off to no end. why be so passive on offense with that lead? put down the hammer and deliver the killshot. does this team not know how to do that?

very pissed and sleepy p1,
Arthur

Again, I'll take my chances with a team that relies on a Dirk missed free throw, Shaq making his, and Gary Payton hitting game-winning jumpers. It's gonna be OK Mavs fans.
