Friday Excuse for No Blog

As a creature of habit, my world has been turned upside down as this morning, my wife and daughter hopped on an airplane to see her family until Monday night. That leaves me and 17 month old Brett. Aside from my show today, lil' Brett and me are joined at the hip until Monday morning at 10:00 when I get a babysitter for opening day.

So, blogging will be second priority. This morning, I got nothing for you, and I will try to make up for it, but no promises until mom gets back. I know some of you dads do this all the time, but for me, this is the maiden voyage.

Party on.

I for one am tired of "family" ruining our lives. Stop having children people! There's already too many of us.

NOOOOOO.....My monring time waste has been taken from me!! How did you let the wife get away without both kids?

Seriously, I have two kids, and my wife works weekends. I understand how hard it is to get things done with the little ones around.

He's old enough for a mall playground. Give him 30 minutes there, and then maybe a store run (toddler in shopping cart = happy, occupied toddler if you avoid the temptation of the toy aisle and gave him a ziploc full of goldfish and a juice box), and then he'll be good for a nap. Then you've got a solid hour or two of internet or gaming time!

Plus, if he's got a high chair and takes a million years to eat, I'm sure he'd love to watch some sports with you over the supper hour while you eat a sub or more likely drive-thru because taking the toddler out of the car just to go get a sub sucks.

Play your cards right, and you can have a few hours of time to do your own thing even with a toddler at your hip, then if he goes to bed early (bath helps), that's a bonus. You just have to hope he doesn't wake up too early.

6oz of grain alcohol should knock the little guy right out, and give you at least 45 minutes to put a decent blog together...

Everyone under 25 is stupid...they should lose there right to vote

oh...and I do realize that I typed "there" instead of "their" which would have been more grammatically correct. I am a moron. Please kill me.

Dear Anonymous at 11:38:

Thank you for pointing out that everyone under 25 is stupid. By the way, "there" is usually an adverb. You must have meant "their," the possessive adjective.
